THE VISITOR
We were invited by Komplot for the exhibition’s scenography and the book design of the Hisk laureates 2011
'The Visitor'.
"The cat actually entered as a detail. There was the story I remembered of Oscar saying that he wanted to get a cat when he became the artistic director, and he said it would be good for the social cohesion somehow. They never got that cat..."
Heidi Ballet (excerpt from the book preface)
Milord the house cat we found in a shelter became the Hisk cat for the laureate 2011 show. The cat is a non-thematic binding element linking twelve very different artists.
We placed titles and names at a cat's eye level and equiped Milord with a camera. Toddling through the exhibition it captured snapshot of the art pieces as well as movement of spectators and details of architecture.
